Fall Spirit Week continued today, Wednesday, Oct. 28, with America Day. Students were seen crowding the halls in a sea of red, white and blue.

Freshman Tali Petto of Marlboro said she thought that America Day was a great way to not only show school spirit, but also represent the USA.

“I love America Day and getting into the spirit,” Petto said.

The lunchtime event today was the second annual dodgeball tournament, in which three boys and three girls from each grade formed a team. The first match was the freshmen against the juniors, followed by the sophomores against the seniors.

Sophomore Lauren Spiezia of Manalapan said she was looking forward to today’s event.

“I am excited to watch the dodgeball tournament, and I am hoping that we win,” Spiezia said.

Freshman Lily Dews of Middletown said she didn’t have any real expectations for dodgeball.

“I will be happy if the freshman come in any place other than last,” Dews said.

This year’s new event, the week-long scavenger hunt continued. Wednesday’s list included a pair of cleats, roll of duct tape, a non-smartphone, something with comic sans on it, a Color Wars t-shirt, a yearbook and a $2 bill.

The winner of today’s scavenger hunt was the junior class, followed by the freshman in second, sophomores in third and seniors in last.

The dodgeball tournament came to an end with the junior class as the winners. Second place went to the seniors, while the sophomore class placed third and the freshman took fourth.

Tomorrow’s theme is Punk-Grunge Day, and the lunch event is the scarecrow decorating contest.
