Today’s spirit week theme was Twin Day, prompting students to dress the same as one or more classmates.

Many members of the Class of 2016 wore their class shirts to ensure that every member of their grade was counted for participation, and it worked. They obtained 100 percent participation for today.

The dodgeball tournament was the lunchtime event, held during the second half of the event. Many students gathered in the cafeteria to watch as their classmates competed.

“It was a great example of the sense of community in our school,” said freshman Brigid Garrett of Wall.

Each grade selected five members to their team to play four minute games of dodgeball in the back of the cafeteria. All of the matches except for the final didn’t require the whole four minutes to complete.

The seniors defeated the freshman team in the first round, and the juniors routed the sophomores in a mere 39 seconds. The two losing teams then played for third, and the freshman won and claimed third place.

The final round was played between juniors and seniors. With two minutes left, three seniors, Aidan Josephson and Matt Grippo of Middletown along with Jake Van Brunt of Wall, faced the lone junior remaining, Johnny Callaghan of Wall. Callaghan defeated two of the seniors, prompting sudden death match, one on one, at the four minute mark.

After two minutes of back and forth action, Callaghan emerged victorious of Josephson, winning the competition for the Class of 2016. This gave the junior class their second win this week, having also won musical chairs on Monday.

“It feels great to win a crazy game like that,” Callaghan said. “I’m going to Disney World!”

In the end, juniors came in first, seniors in second, freshmen in third and sophomores in fourth.

“It made me really excited and happy that we didn’t come in last!” said freshman Dylan Josephson of Middletown.
